Ideal for those with no acting experience, this course explores acting techniques and methods, scene study, improv, character development and the business of acting. Whether you simply wish to try something new, perhaps want to build confidence or are serious about acting as a profession, you will find this course fun, social and rewarding. Grow as an individual by bringing out that creative side of you... who knows where it will lead!

Acting Level 2: Working the Scene with Joey Walsh

On Monday from 7:00 PM to 8:45 PM. Oct. 30 - Dec. 11

This 7-week course is for those wishing to hone their acting skills, develop performance techniques and learn now to deliver dialogue truthfully and naturally. Participants will explore different genres from various playwrights with a focus on comedy. During the course, students will work with  scene partners to develop callaboration skills and learn the tools needed to break down a script and build realism and depth into characters. Although this is a level 2 class, and some previous classes or experience would be an asset, this course is open to everyone. There may even be a showcase at the end for those wanting to get in front of a small audience!

Expressive Play: Acting and Improv (Afternoons)

On Wednesdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Nov. 1 - Dec.13

Designed for those 55 an over, our improv course is a fun, challenging and exciting way to enhance your life and creative endeavours. We provide a safe space where you can learn to inspire your scene partner, think outside the box, make friends and have a lot of fun doing it! This 7-week course is filled with improv games and acting exercises....maybe even leading to a showcase for family and friends. For those who join up, life just got a lot more interesting.

The Actors' Showcase (Afternoons)

On Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM., Nov. 2 - Dec. 14

Designed for those 55 and over, this popular class ends with a performance! This unique course offers participants an opportunity to develop a practical process for acting --- through preparation, rehearsal and right up to the performance. This 8 week course is an excellent opportunity to build upon your existing skills. Participants will work with a director on a one-act play or scene showcase throughout the 7 week course and perform it for an invited audience of family and friends!​ ​​

Shakespeare Unlocked: Classical Acting for Beginners

On Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 8:45 PM., Nov. 11 - Dec. 14 (6 weeks)

Shakespeare - tough to understand, tough to act, right? Not so fast! Award winning veteran actor and director Eleanor Crowder offers you simple keys to the joys of acting Shakespeare. Start from a thoroughly hands-on workshop approach using physical improv and actor clues in the text, to trying out some of the great speeches and scenes. 

While the focus is on Shakespearean text, the methods and techniques that Eleanor teaches are foundational to all types of acting.  After this course, you will feel confident to tackle any Shakespearean monologue or scene.  You will know how to bring your performance to life and have it filled with emotion, truth, and your own vibrant presence.
